Our Community Partners
Our programs and services are made possible through financial support from the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, who provide operational funding on a per-diem basis; and through ongoing community support including financial and equipment donations.
Personal Choice Independent Living is an affiliate of Leonard Cheshire International, a UK-based organization dedicated to the provision of services for persons with disabilities. The Cheshire Foundation is internationally known and respected, and supports services in some 57 countries around the world. We are proud to be part of the Canadian “Cheshire family” of some 30 organizations.
We are also a member of the Ontario Community Support Association (OCSA), a network supporting 360 home and community care agencies in Ontario that help people live at home; and of Independent Living Service Providers (ILSP), a network of Executive Directors of Ontario agencies that provide services to persons with physical disabilities.
Over the years, we have forged strong links with Algonquin College, whose students have helped us develop excellent strategic and marketing plans. We have provided co-op placements for students from Algonquin, la Cité collégiale, and VHA - Health and Home Support.
Community groups have provided generous assistance over the years. Recently, the Ozanam Fund of the St. Vincent de Paul Society helped us obtain much-needed items for the Group Home.
